The difference is that today the media bombards us with the details. I've read accounts from old journalists who covered JFK. They all knew that he was banging chicks left and right. Some had even seen saw Secret Service men bring young women to his hotel suite. But those journalists didn't believe it was their place to report his philandering. I'd love to see a politician in the middle of a sex scandal stand up and say, "Yep, I knocked the bottom out of that thing! It was hot! Now what's that got to do with my plan to balance trade?" 1.
