President reportedly plans to address the thorny issue of immigration reform this year, including searching for a way for illegal immigrants to become legal, a senior administration official says.
Oooh boy, 12 million new Democrat voters, just in time for his re-election bid! And just below that headline is this headline:
Family Sues San Francisco Saying Sanctuary Law to Blame for Murder of Father, Two Sons
The family of a father and two sons allegedly murdered by an illegal immigrant last year reportedly is suing the city of San Francisco, claiming its “sanctuary city” policy contributed to their deaths.

So, according to Teh One, the solution to “immigration reform” is to “bring people out of the shadows” through a system that would allow the 12 million undocumented immigrants to pay a fine, learn English and go to the back of the line in the citizenship process.

I’m against amnesty for the same reason I’m against the bailouts. Rewarding people that screw up (in the financial world) or intentionally break the law (illegal immigrants) with impunity is simply destructive of the principles that a successful society should be built on. Poor decisions have consequences. Unfortunately, these days those consequences seem to reward rather than punish the decision makers.
