That means elected officials are supposed carry out the will of the people who elected them to office. And the best way to understand the will of the people who elected you to office is to have a dialogue with them, face-to-face. And the best way to do that is to go back to your district, and have OPEN-TO-THE-PUBLIC town-hall type meetings. And pass around the microphone until everyone has had a chance to say or ask what they want. Whether or not you agree with it and want to hear it.
But these despicable excuses for human beings are weaseling out of that contract with We the People. Time and again over the past few days I have read reports of these representatives cowards either canceling or refusing to schedule town hall meetings in their districts. What are they afraid of?
Evidently this is all the rage among the congress-people. Moving to teleconferences instead of live town-hall meetings. They claim it’s because this is an easier, more efficient way of reaching their constituents.
I call bullshit.
Hell, this Congressperson Hypocrite voted against the Voter I.D. bill, but is requiring folks in his district to show I.D. to get into his meeting. As if all the people in his district are 100% behind Obamacare. I’ve got news for you Bubba, you’re from Texas. Those folks are going to speak their minds.
And this one actually admits that she “doesn’t get it.” That is exactly the point. You don’t get it! People are telling you that they do not want this legislation. The people you supposedly pretend to represent! You had better start listening!
They piss down our backs and try to tell us it’s raining. “Easier and more efficient.” Really? And the mass exodus to this form of voter-communication just happens to coincide with your peers being confronted (rightly so) by their constituents and being made to stand on the carpet for their voting records and their support of Obamacare?
You wouldn’t be moving to teleconferences because you can control who gets on the air and what questions get asked would you? Kind of like Obama giving tickets to, and taking questions from, plants in the audience? Keep burying your head in the sand congressmen dumbasses. Keep sticking your fingers in your ears and singing la-la-la like we’re not here.
