Global Warming Activist, Journalist, Perish in Antarctica

(Punta Arenas, Chile) Famed global warming activist James Schneider and a journalist friend were both found frozen to death on Saturday, about 90 miles from South Pole Station, by the pilot of a ski plane practicing emergency evacuation procedures.

"I couldn’t believe what I was seeing", recounted the pilot, Jimmy Dolittle. "There were two snowmobiles with cargo sleds, a tent, and a bright orange rope that had been laid out on the ice, forming the words, ‘HELP-COLD’".

If the name of the pilot didn’t tip you off, it is only satire.  Too bad.  Take a look at the most recent poll from the same website.

Subj: Stuck Bayonets Now a Thing Of The Past

I guess now, the command will be “Fix Chainsaws!” or “Fix Zombie-choppers!”  Probably don’t need door-breaching shotguns anymore either…

Quote of The Day

March 26, 2010

Krauthammer on Obama:

"I think he is the man who, perhaps without intending, has given historical context to this presidency.  After all, Obama sees himself as a successor to FDR and Truman, so now we have the historical procession: the New Deal, the Square Deal, and the "Big F**n Deal."

Heh.

For all you dumbasses who thought believed HOPED that this whole health care thing was about HEALTH CARE – from the longest-serving House Democrat, John Dingell:

“The harsh fact of the matter is when you’re going to pass legislation that will cover 300 [million] American people in different ways it takes a long time to do the necessary administrative steps that have to be taken to put the legislation together to control the people.”

You can listen to the podcast of that interview here.

Guys’ Day Out

March 23, 2010

My kids are on Spring Break this week, and tomorrow the weather is supposed to clear up nicely.

My oldest son and I are planning to fly the plane to Mecca Cabela’s in Dundee, Michigan for a guys’ day out.

Last year I got a Cabela’s Visa card and starting putting all my work & travel expenses on it.  I now have over $500 in credit at Cabela’s to spend on something sharp & pointy, or loud & bangy, or fishing-type stuff – Suggestions?.

Man, it’s like being a kid the night before going to Disney World…

Teaching the Law to a Supreme Court Justice

March 23, 2010

Quote of The Day:

“Justice Sotomayor, States may have grown accustomed to violating the rights of American citizens, but that does not bootstrap those violations into something that is constitutional.” — Alan Gura

Alan Gura, in arguments before the Supreme Court in McDonald vs. Chicago – the case involving the Chicago handgun ban.

What He Said

To everyone who is throwing in the towel and crying “woe is me” on this whole socialism healthcare thing and what it portends for our country and our liberty:  Go read this.
