Late January/early February was a bit chilly, but late February and March were fine. April was pretty hot though and the sand fleas were swarming. I’m sure as hell glad I wasn’t there in July.
July 13th 1981 is when I started and graduted Oct 8th. It was f’ing miserable. During 3rd phase ICT we had to sit on the abandoned airfield to ride out a category 2 hurricane.
Graduated on July 18…Lots of lack flags over the grinder the last couple weeks…which didn’t help becuase instead ofcloseorder drill on the grinder, the DIs just dug us insice the barracks…
