How far up the creek are the Democrats?

From Fox News:

Surprise South Carolina Democratic Senate Nominee Refuses to Step Aside

South Carolina Democratic Party officials say they have ‘no idea’ how Alvin Greene, a 32-year-old jobless vet, won Tuesday’s Senate primary.

Of course they have no idea.  They think we are still in a political status quo in this country.  And since he ain’t one of their anointed few, they want him to drop out of the race:

The surprise South Carolina Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate has turned down a request from the state party boss to step down.

He tells them to stick it:

“The Democratic Party has chosen their nominee with over 60 percent, and we have to stand behind their choice," Greene said during a telephone interview from his home in Manning, S.C. "We need to be about the issues. We need to be pro-South Carolina, not anti-Greene."

And just to demonstrate their complete denial of the predicament they are in:

"As far as we know he has done no campaigning," state party spokesperson Keiana Page said. "We have no idea how he won."

Here’s a clue – he won because he was the only choice who wasn’t your guy.  A one-eyed syphilitic yak could have beaten your candidate in this political climate…

And in true, mature take-my-ball-and-go-home style, they are just going to ignore him on the playground:

Greene is also being shunned by national Democrats, telling Fox News that neither the Democratic National Committee nor the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee have contacted him in the wake of his big win.

Go and read the rest of the article (or just look below the fold), and you will find out that this guy is an uninformed wingnut with nothing better to do…Which come to think of it, tends to reinforce my yak argument.

Update! Below the fold…

Alvin Greene , the surprise South Carolina Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, was kicked out of the Army last year and is facing a pending felony charge, according to court records obtained by ABC News.

Greene, who has yet to enter a plea or be indicted, was arrested in November and charged with “disseminating, procuring or promoting obscenity” in Richland County, S.C., and faces up to five years in prison if convicted.

The U.S. Senate candidate was captured on video surveillance Nov. 4 trying to show “obscene photographs from a website” to a female victim on the University of South Carolina campus and go to her room without her consent, according to the affidavit.

Earlier today, the 32-year-old military veteran, who lives with his parents, declined to discuss the incident with ABC News during an interview at his home in Manning.

“I have no comment about that, I have no comment,” he told ABC News.
Greene has been unemployed and living in his rural hometown 60 miles south of Columbia. He doesn’t own a cell phone and there is no computer in his house.
