A Norman Rockwell Moment…

From Reader and fellow Jarhead Steve C…

These are possibly the 5 best sentences you’ll ever read:

  1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
  2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
  3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
  4. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation.
  5. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.

Let me be very clear: a vote for any Democrat for the House of Representatives is a vote for Nancy Pelosi; a vote for any Democrat for Senate is a vote for Harry Reid; and a vote for ANY Democrat ANYWHERE is a vote for Barrack Obama.

  2. T.S. Nunya Says:

You guys are funny. You act like it matters if Democrats or Republicans are elected.

  3. stevec Says:

Eternal optimists, that’s us! Problem is, the monetarists and keynesians keep telling the politicians of both stripes that printing and spending more money is a GOOD thing. Of course, that’s exactly what they want to hear so they take that advice with a vengeance. It’s so bad they’re starting to make Ron Paul look like a viable option. Maybe after the credit bubble bursts and the depression really sets in we can do better, but I suspect that those jokers will try to say that we didn’t print and spend enough, or fast enough. It’s been said before, but it’s true still: trying to spend yourself out of debt is like trying to drink yourself sober–with equally predictable results.

  4. curtislowe Says:

    Nunya – *snicker*

  5. T.S. Nunya Says:

Wait, all these years WAS NOT supposed to drink myself sober? Damn, I never shoulda listened to my bartender…
