Quote of The Day

“In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life and they lost it all – security, comfort, and freedom. When the Athenians finally wanted not to give to society but for society to give to them, when the freedom they wished for most was freedom from responsibility the Athens ceased to be free." – Edward Gibbon "The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire

This quote from Gibbons really rings true here in South Korea. North Korea has killed 50 South Koreans in two separate attacks this year. The South Koreans have done NOTHING in response. They say they can’t retaliate because their economy will suffer. The South Koreans want wealth and comfort more than they want to be free from attacks. Obviously they lost their honor and dignity a long time ago.

One of my co-workers confided to me that when she heard about the attack, her first thought was, “Oh no! What will happen to the value of the stock that I just bought!”

I think it’s time to pull the US troops out of South Korea. People who won’t defend themselves ain’t worth defending.

Wow. Didn’t realize it was that bad. Strong words from a guy who spent part of his life on the DMZ defending them…

Just tell them to imagine how their economy will suffer when Li’l Kim is in charge of it 🙂
