Quote of The Day

“To be clear, if you’re using this event to criticize the "rhetoric" of Mrs. Palin or others with whom you disagree, then you’re either: (a) asserting a connection between the "rhetoric" and the shooting, which based on evidence to date would be what we call a vicious lie; or (b) you’re not, in which case you’re just seizing on a tragedy to try to score unrelated political points, which is contemptible. Which is it?

I understand the desperation that Democrats must feel after taking a historic beating in the midterm elections and seeing the popularity of ObamaCare plummet while voters flee the party in droves. But those who purport to care about the health of our political community demonstrate precious little actual concern for America’s political well-being when they seize on any pretext, however flimsy, to call their political opponents accomplices to murder.

Where is the decency in that?” – Glenn Reynolds, WSJ

Hey, the shooter was a typical libtard, even down to the mental instability. How’d those morons expect this to turn out?

Is this the best you could find? There are good arguments to counter the claim that the Giffords shooting was incited by “vitriolic rhetoric,” but this fails to make them. This is just another attempt to shout down the opposition. That got tiresome a long time ago.

I’m lazy – sue me. You get the research you pay for around this joint… 😛

Nunya, who pissed in your cornflakes today? Prof. Reynolds op-ed isn’t an attempt to shout down anyone. It is a response to the deluge of Democrat politicians trampling innocent bystanders in their collective rush to get in front of a camera, any camera, and blame the shooting on a “climate of hate” and “hate-filled political speech” and “violent right-wing hate speech” along with calling for censorship of conservative media (radio, tv, and internet) as well as their final solution–reducing/eliminating the protections of the Second Amendment. Maybe you haven’t seen much of it, but brother, trust me, it’s been all over the airwaves here. The revelation that this nutjob was: a) a nutjob,; and b) a leftist has barely slowed them down. Obambi’s speech today will add fuel to the fire. I’m surprised that Reynolds was so gentle in his response. The Democrats were not. As you say, there may be other, better arguments out there, but they aren’t needed. The facts speak for themselves. Loudly.
